Personal Approach

Barefoot Joinery was established more than 30 years ago by Richard Kench, who trained in “furniture making and design” at Rycotewood College in Oxfordshire. He took the craftsmanship he had learnt and applied it to innovative building projects first in the UK, and then in south west France before settling in Dorset in 1996.

Richard’s approach to all Barefoot’s projects

is the same: craftsmanship, integrity and a sense of pride. The process always starts with thorough consultation, taking plenty of time to understand and interpret the brief in a cost-effective manner before work begins. Richard has extensive experience in working with architects and has much to add to the design stages of any project.
